About Me
I have always felt a longing to create. Throughout my life, this has taken many forms: drawing, painting, writing, and photography. I love experimenting with different art forms and seeing how they affect the way I perceive the world. Drawing taught me to focus on the details. Painting taught me to express myself emotionally. Writing romanticized my thoughts and enticed me to notice simple beauty. I never thought I would be a photographer, but looking back, I almost always had a camera in hand, even before they were built into our phones. I barely paid attention in my high school photography class. The dark room wasn't for me.
It wasn't until I got older that I saw the role photography plays in our everyday lives. In our society, we obsess over screens and what they sell us. With every swipe, we see the life we want and how to get it (supposedly). I want my media to do something different, to foster a sense of connectedness with our community and nature. I hope that my work inspires people to fall in love with the beauty that already exists within the environment, others, and themselves.
